About the Boot Camp

Join us for an interactive lesson on email security through authentication and encryption. The topics to be discussed include:

- Assessing and improving your own email security settings

Publishing Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting and Conformance (DMARC)
- Recognizing and mitigating phishing attempts through DMARC policies"
- Securing your email server with a Sender Policy Framework (SPF)
- Verifying your DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM)
- An overview of the MX Toolbox
- Creating and maintaining an SPF record
- Ensuring overall integrity of authentication and encryption methods
- Integrating email authentication with Microsoft 365 & Google Workspace

This is an interactive lesson in which you will follow along with the instructor. In order to participate please ensure you are able to:

- Access to Their Organization’s DNS Management Console
- Credentials for managing DNS records (e.g., GoDaddy, Cloudflare, Namecheap, AWS Route 53, Azure DNS, etc.)
- Ability to modify TXT, CNAME, and MX records (or work with someone who has these permissions)
- Administrator Access to Email Hosting Platform
- Admin-level access to their email service (e.g., Microsoft 365 Admin Center, Google Workspace Admin Console, etc.)
- Ability to view and configure SPF, DKIM, and DMARC settings

TJ has more than ten years in the IT industry, with over six years in technical leadership roles. Most recently, TJ held the role of Senior Program Manager at Red River Technologies, where he was responsible for managing the healthcare vertical of managed IT services, including client relationships and contract negotiations. In addition, he led cross-functional teams to implement new management structures and successful launches of SaaS platforms, resulting in significant efficiency improvements for the company and its customers.

Harry started with Data Networks in July 2021 as a Hardware Repair + Deployment Engineer. This role saw Harry troubleshooting, repairing, and deploying PCs, laptops, and peripherals. In under a year, Harry was promoted to Service Desk Engineer. In this position on the Managed IT Services team, Harry worked closely with our Managed IT Services customers to support and troubleshoot their systems and infrastructures to ensure efficient daily operation of their network and computer systems.
